Every autumn, billions of small birds make their way from the continent of Europe all the way to Africa. As soon as spring arrives these birds re-trace their epic journey back to Europe to breed. What was once science fiction, is now becoming a reality! Two blind patients were implanted with bionic eyes at Moorfields Hospital in London last week. They are among the 15 people worldwide who are part of a trial to test out the technique. If successful, the procedure will be available to other blind people....

This ordinary-looking Spruce found in Sweden is the world's oldest tree. Scientists believe that it started growing just after end of the last ice age, more than 9.500 years ago. Prior to this scientists had believed that the oldest tree was between 4,000 to 5,000 years old....
