An elephant, who accidentally fell into a dry, 25-foot deep well in Northeast India, lived to see another day thanks to the quick-thinking rescuers' scientific knowledge. The ch...Over 4 years agosuperomegagamer added a new comment in

I think groundhog day is kind of silly. And I kinda feel bad for Phil because he should be able to live his life in peace without all the crowds and cameras.Over 4 years agosuperomegagamerliked a comment in Punxsutawney Phil Predicts An Early Spring For The Second Consecutive Year!.

It might be our closest star and absolutely essential for our existence, but, for the most part, the inner-workings of the Sun remain a mystery to scientists. However, if the i...Over 4 years agosuperomegagamer added a new comment in
If anybody watched the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs cartoon series, there is an episode where the commoners of Swallow Falls, the place where Flint Lockwood lives, have a mysterious sardine that is supposedly really old (I forgot the exact number, but my guess it was around either 60 or 100 years old), like good ol' Phil is. But they accidentally "killed" the ancient sardine, and then when they were about to tell the whole town, they see the sardine, alive and well. But Sam, Flint's friend, notices that the sardine has a mustache! Then the mayor basically admits he gets a new sardine for when they die. Sam points this out, and the people don't seem to notice or care. If you asked me why I made this reference, it's because it is ludicrous and impossible for a groundhog to be that old! Also, if he is truly that old, then why hasn't the elixir been given to humans to make them live longer? In addition, why is predicting the weather, even though he gets it wrong most of the time?Over 4 years agosuperomegagamer replied to a comment in
All in all, this tradition, along with the groundhog itself, is bogus. I mean, I respect it and all, but why these things? (P.S: I live in the U.S, so I know about this tradition.)Over 4 years agosuperomegagamer added a new comment in
I LOVE these birds! They are SOOOO CUTE!!! When I saw them, I thought that they were probably hunted to extinction due to there size and their (possibly) high fat content. I do believe that they will recover soon. It would be a shame to never see those adorable little faces again...Over 4 years agosuperomegagamer added a new comment in
I was actually studying this in class to teach about the Bottleneck Effect, where a natural random event causes a species (or group of species, in this case) to diminish to a few survivors. The gene pool would then shrink due to this. If they moved to an uncolonized area, then it would be called the Founders Effect. All this is in the category Genetic Drift. It's a shame somebody would do this, especially in the dry season of Australia. I do hope this ends soon...Over 4 years agosuperomegagamer added a news bookmark.
