I originally had to read this book as a summer assignment for a class, but once I opened it, I simply couldn't put it down. From the start, you're immersed in O'Brien's world. At the time, he's a young man with his whole life ahead of him, sent to fight in the war in Vietnam. Through each of his stories, you're able to paint a picture of everyone he knew, the ones they loved and the ones they lost. Perhaps one of the most accurate depictions of life as a war veteran and an eye-opening recollection on American values, 'The Things They Carried' will make you experience a wide range of emotions, all the while rejuvenating your inner sense of patriotism.

I love National geographic books honestly, and this book seems inspirational based on the cover! I would love to win this giveaway to share this book with my family and friends and I love reading national geographic books with my friends! When you think of superheroes, you don’t usually think of mistakes. Believe it or not, no one is perfect, not even superheroes! In Dear Justice League, kids ask superheroes including Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Superman, Batman, and more questions! The answers to these questions are not what you’d think- and reveal the theme of the story which is nobody is perfect. This graphic novel was colorful, funny, enthusiastic, and revealed a powerful message that everyone makes mistakes and nobody is perfect. Overall, I rate this book 5/5. I recommend it for grades 2nd to 6th, and anyone interested in comedy, superhero, or graphic novels!
