Searching is a thriller film like no other. The entire film is set through the perspective of computer screens and smartphones which is an interesting take on the digital age! The film follows a father and his attempts to find the truth behind his missing teenage daughter. We discover the truth behind the shaky father-daughter relationship and the role that friends play in our modern-day digital society. When you think the movie could not get any tenser, there is a major plot twist towards the end that is definitely worth the watch! Like Crazy Rich Asians, I am really happy to see more Asian representation in the thriller side of cinema, and I cannot wait for what the future will bring :)

The film soon reveals that there are multiple universes with their own distinctive Spiderman. Each of them brought their own unique qualities into play and used teamwork to defeat evil and return to their own dimensions. Although I've never been an avid Marvel fan, this variation of Spiderman's story is definitely one to watch!

The story follows NYU Econ professor Rachel Chu, and her time in Singapore with her boyfriend Nick Young's high-society family. She feels out of place in the world of the upper class and is resented by Nick's mother. Throughout the movie, it is clear that Rachel does not lack intelligence through her confrontation with Nick's mother and those who disapprove of her. Audiences see the meaning of family, love, and betrayal, and the movie ends with the classic, rom-com happy ending. Definitely worth the watch, and I am so happy to finally see people that look like me in Hollywood!!
