I want this book, because I love learning new things, and I really enjoy weird but true facts.

This is a wonderful book. The tale starts with a typical haughty, proud king named Fred, who wasn't very smart, and loved clothes. King Fred loved clothes so much, that he was willing to overwork his poor seamstresses, especially Mrs. Dovetail; she passed away from the exhaustion. Daisy, the seamstress's daughter says one controversial thing after another, and begins to concern the king. Lord Spittleworth is very clever, and begins to manipulate the king. Will the kingdom fall apart? Beautiful and heartwarming.

I have only read the first book. I liked the idea and characters, but some parts were a bit boring, and the book is very depressing. Several characters die. I read this for a book club. If I did not have to finish it, I probably would not have. However, I don't think you should judge the author based off of this book. I am reading her My Side of the Mountain book, and it is really good so far. I do not plan on reading the other books, but I may research how the trilogy ends.
