Lewallen Collier and his family have always lived out west, far away from people. But when the Civil War starts, Lew's father and older brother go off to fight, and Lew is the only one left to protect the family. Then the Comanche Indians attack, and the only survivors are Lew and his sister, Eula Bee. Lew has a plan to escape from the Comanche Indians, but it will mean leaving his beloved sister behind. He knows he will do a everything in his power to rescue her, he just prays that she'll be waiting and watching. This book was very touching and even though it had some really sad moments the overall ending was very happy, and this book definetely deserves a five star rating.Almost 4 years ago
