During World War II, a 12 years old boy called David is imprisoned in a concentration camp in Eastern Europe. He seizes the chance to escape from the concentration camp, and he starts his journey to Denmark to seek refuge. During his journey, he rescued a girl called Maria from the fire in the shed. The core value of this book is be hopeful, and be brave even though you are in a severe situation. I chose this book because the setting of the book is during world war II, which fascinated me. The story features a innocent boy who knows nothing about the outside world. The conclusion in this book is life is full of wickedness. I agree with the author’s conclusion that life is full of wickedness because I personally have too much pressure from school. I will recommend this book to my friends because this book is fascinating when David is on his journey to Denmark. He encounters many troubles, and he needs to find solutions to solve them.

This book is about a highschool boy named Jerry Renault transferred to a high school called Trinity. The main characters include Jerry and Archie. Jerry is the new student of Trinity. Archie is the chief of the secret organization in Trinity. Archie sends people out to do missions for the secret organization. When the secret organization is on a mission, they use a black box which contains black and white dice. If Archie picks the white dice, he doesn’t have to do the mission on his own; If Archie picks up the black dice, he has to do the mission himself. The most intense part of the story is when Jerry saw a sentence in his locker, saying “Do I dare to disturb the universe?” When I am reading this, I wondered what Jerry will do, and how he would react to it. I chose this book because the title of this book is very interesting. I have no idea what the title “the chocolate war” means. I thought the book was about people fighting with chocolate. I will recommend this book for my friends because this book reflected many things in real life, such as bully and peer isolation.

This book is about two kids receive a bag of money from nowhere, and they only have a 2 weeks to spend them all before the money loses its value. I chose this book because I did not know what will happen to two boys if they got a million dollars to spend, and it is very interesting for me to read. The main character in this book were Damian and Anthony. Damian was Anthony's little brother, and Damian believed in saints a lot. Damian was talking about saints all the time. Anthony was Damian’s big brother, and he liked fashion things, such as toys and shoes. The major problem in the book was people were asking them to give out money, and there was a group of robbers coming for the money. My favorite character in this book was Anthony. Anthony was very mature, and he knew how to spend and handle the money. Unlike Anthony, Damian wanted to help poor people, but he used the wrong way. My favorite part of the story was when Damian and Anthony went to school and everyone were asking them to give them money in exchange of their toys. My least favorite part of the story was when Damian started talking about saints, and it just took forever for him to finish that without someone else in the book started a new topic. I recommended this book for people that likes to see how will people reacts in different situations, and guessing what will happen next in the story.

This book is about a boy named Ender brought to a space battle school and learned about battle tactics because of the bugger war, which is an invasion of the bugs from outer space. I chose this book because I was fascinated by the cover of the book, and I like to read about wars, too. The main characters were Ender, Petra, Bean, Colonel Graff, and Alai. Colonel Graff recruits Ender to the battle school. Ender is the commander of Petra, Bean, and Alai. The major problems Ender encounters are jealousy from other people because of his intelligence. My favorite character in the book is colonel Graff because he talks very confidently in all situations, and I like the way he talks. My least favorite part of the story is when Ender comes back to Earth, and starts talking with his sister, which bored me. It would have been better if the buggers attack them while they are talking, and they have to escape to the battle school. I recommend this book to people that like wars because this will be very interesting for them to read.

oliverc's book review was featured in The Da Vinci Code.
This book is about Robert Langdon, a professor of an University, and Sophie, the cop working in a Paris police station, trying to solve a murder. Robert Langdon not only studies Leonardo Da Vinci’s work, but also studies Da Vinci’s mysteries, including the secrets in his paintings, and religions while he was alive. Sophie cooperated with Robert Landon to find out the murderer of the crime. The intense part of this book is the procedure involving physical violence between the criminal and Robert Langdon. The tension of their conflict excited me. I will recommend this book to my friends because most parts in the story are intriguing, which will capture the readers into the story.
