Mibs Beaumont’s 13th birthday was not typical. It was when she got her savvy. What is a savvy, you might ask? It’s the special power or skill that everyone in Mibs’ family has. But what will Mibs’ be? Something useful, like levitation? Or something useLESS, like being able to make giant rubber band balls? That is uncertain. But when Mibs, her brothers, and 2 kids from church stowaway in the back of a pink bible-delivering bus to Salina, Kansas, to visit the Beaumont’s sick father, you can guess that Mibs’ birthday wasn’t exactly going to be normal anyway. :) I give this book 5/5 stars for imagination, comedy, and the inspiration that everyone has their own savvy, you just may not have found it yet.

I really loved the first book and wanted to read the rest but it was always the 4th book that I found. It seemed as if the books didn't exists anywhere and I couldn't find the series at the biggest bookstore near me. I have been searching for the book for a while and couldn't get a copy. maybe because they're so rare? I know I love the series already even if I only read the first. If I could get all four of them, i would read them over and over until I can memorize everything.

!!!!!! SO MUCH TO SAY !!!!!!! Like many other books I've read, there are SOOO MANY plot twists. The princess who is expected to be the 'good gal' is actually a witch 'within' and the girl who prefers a life other than princes and castles is actually considered the 'good one'. Even though Sophie (witch) and Agatha ('good') seem like complete opposites, they are still friends. At least they CONSIDER themselves to be. In my opinion, they don't seem like the BESTEST of friends and their trust for one another seems to waver sometimes. But if you're someone who loves reading about war, hearing the phrase 'girls rule' or 'who needs boys?', then this book is perfect. The school which is supposed to be for good got into a war between boys and girls **BOYS ARE LOOSING!! YESS** There is one character is we all thought was dead but .... COMES BACK TOP LIFE!! And in a very critical moment of the story as well which leads to a whole new plot twist. Oh, and did i mention there was ... MAGIC??? If this wasn't enough to convince you, I hope you changed your mind because there is MAGIC involved. (everyone loves magic ... except for those who don't, of course)

I really like the Dork Diary series but I didn't start reading the first book until I read the eighth. I couldn't read them in order but I still enjoyed and recommend them. I didn't really like the first book because I wanted so many things to happen that didn't. **SPOILER** There were parts where I wanted Makenzie (Evil gal) to just crawl under a rock and mind her own business and some parts where i just wanted Niki to right up slap that phony (Makenzie) in the face. But that's just my opinion and I wanted the main character to stand up for herself. Although, at the end of each book, she mostly had her way and even Makenzie couldn't be bothered. I really recommend this book series to ANY teenager about to enter middle school or up. I sure would recommend it to adults that are cooped up in offices all day as well!

Ingrid Law makes amazing books (not that there's an author who doesn't) and has a wicked sense of humor. Reading her books makes me smile. The book Savvy is actually part of a series. **SPOILERS AHEAD*** This book in particular is about a family with abnormal powers who try to hide it from the world. Though, that can get a bit tricky at times ... very tricky. Having many siblings and relatives, keeping bad luck at bay was another challenge. Also having trouble fitting into a normal world with normal humans is not at all simple with a big family. I liked how Ingrid named some of the characters based on things in real life (like Fish, an adorable name for a mischievous child in a bookworms opinion). In the book Switch, there were a lot of climaxes and plot twists I never saw coming. That was the first book I read by Ingrid Law before reading Savvy. Having powers such as seeing into someone's life, being able to conjure fire, growing as big as a house makes a story all the more interesting and page turning. READ IT!! THIS IS AN ORDER!! Please ...... (or else)
