Guardians of the Galaxy is quite possibly one of the best movies of 2014. When I went into this film back in 2014, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. However, I walked out of the theater very pleased. This movie has everything. Heart, comedy, action, adventure, etc. The special effects are spectacular, the film soundtrack is great, and the acting is amazing! The characters here are so well fleshed out. You find yourself caring about everyone. Marvel did a pretty risky thing with the first Guardians film. They took a property that not a whole lot of people knew about, and made a movie about it. When I heard that the film was going to have Rocket Raccoon and Groot in it, I was not sure what to think. However, they ended up being my favorite characters. Also, this movie is incredibly funny. I found myself laughing at almost every scene. At the time this movie came out, all the MCU movies had more of a serious tone to them. This movie, while being very emotional at times, had a lot of humor. It felt like a completely different movie from the others. However, now we have a lot of Marvel movies with more comedy in them, such as Ant-Man, and Doctor Strange. I for one, cannot wait to see the upcoming Guardians movie!

The Power Rangers movie reboot was a very different take on the rangers, however, I believe that it was a take that worked. When I was little, I was obsessed with the Power Rangers. I watched all the different incarnations all the time. So when I heard that they were coming out with a live action, big Holly Wood budget Power Rangers film, I became quite excited. When the first trailer dropped way back in October, I remember that it had some hard core ranger fans a bit worried. The trailer we received was way different than that of the cheesy show, and the people weren't sure if they would like this more serious version of the Power Rangers. However, I enjoyed the trailer, and I was even more excited when the next one came along. When the film finally hit theaters on March 24th, I had to go see it. And let me just say that I was not at all disappointed! Power Rangers was a incredible ride that had you engaged the entire time. The film centers around the five rangers, Jason, Kimberly, Zack, Billy, and Trini. I particulary enjoyed the backstories behind the five rangers. Each one had their own personal problems that they were facing and had to overcome to join together and become the Power Rangers. I thought that this was a very important part to the movie. As for the villain, Rita Repulsa. Rita was a bit more cheesier than the rest of the movie. While I enjoyed the villain, she just was a bit to crazy and bizarre for the type of movie it was trying to be. While I didn't despise it as much as some of the other fans, it still bug me. However, all negative points aside, I really had a blast with this movie. It took me back to my childhood days, and was just pure fun. I suggest that you go see Power Rangers!

For my English class, we have been reading Romeo and Juliet for the past month now. This play requires tons and tons of patience. It is very hard to follow, do to it being written in Shakspeare. However, at the core of this story, I feel it is a very intriguing tale that has potential. But so many times I find this story to lag on and on, and find it a little bit boring. I feel that it uses uneven story telling, and it's hard to follow what is actually happening. One thing I will say about this old as time tale is that it has excellent character development. Today, too many stories have way too many characters and they can't balance them all out. While there are instances I don't find myself invested in the story, not once do I question the characters actions. I always understand the characters point of view, and why they do the things they do. I get why Romeo kills Tybalt, and why Juliet doesn't want to marry Paris. That is perfectly clear throughout the story. I know that this play was published in like the 1500's, and that it's important to know about. However, for it's time, I feel that this was probably very advanced. So in the long run, Romeo and Juliet is something you are probably going to have to read some time. I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy it, but just too many times I find myself drifting off. It's up to you if you like it or not, however I think that it was a semi interesting story that could have been a bit improved on.

This series was quite enthralling. I remember reading this comic series back when I was in the 4th grade. Spider-Man: Marvel Adventures. It follows the adventures of Peter Parker, as he navigates his way through high school. However, he doesn't fight crime alone. With the help of his girlfriend, Sophia "Chat" Sanduval, and the Blonde Phantom Detective Agency. Chat is a mutant, with the ability to talk to animals with her mind. Throughout the series, Spider-Man teams up with other heroes such as Wolverine, Black Cat, and the Blonde Phantom, just to name a few. This series has a different take on the wall- crawler that everybody knows and loves. Although, my one issue with this series is that it ended to soon. For example, the last issue came in 2012, just as Disney XD was launching it's new T.V. series, "Ultimate Spider-Man." Marvel wanted to do a tie in comic series with the show, and so they canceled this series and replaced it with a "Ultimate Spider-Man" comic series. And yes, that wasn't nearly as good as this one. So if you haven't already read this series, and your a comic fan, I say you give it a shot. It may not be as good as some of the others, but it's alright. But if your a crazy Spider-Man fan like me, you might want to read it.
