Meg's father went on a trip for the government a few years ago but never returned. They haven't heard from him I a long time. Meg, her little brother Charles Wallace, and her new friend Calvin have to save him, but they have no idea what kind of evil They'll encounter. What I thought of it: I've read this book twice. Once a few years ago, then again recently. Calvin was my favorite character. I liked his overall personally.I think Charles Wallace was pretty cool too. Meg was ok, but like many heroines, she could be pretty annoying at times. Overall it was very good. This is one of my favorite books.

Smile is based off Raina Telgemeier's childhood. It is a book about a girl who fell down, and injured her two front teeth. Then, at school things get complicated. She wants to be normal, but all her friends are getting a bit mean. They pansed her when she got up to get something because they were being mean to her in front of the whole middle school. She started running because she was embarrassed. Her friends eventually caught up, asking her why she was being so over reactive. But Raina told them that they weren't being nice to her, and treating her differently now that she has dental problems. She then tells them that she's done with them, and makes new friends. This part was a good example of standing up for yourself. I loved this book. I recommend it to people who have dental problems. I rate this 5/5.

Wonder is about a young boy, August Pullman, who has a facial abnormality called the Treacher-Collins Syndrome, who has to deal with many effects to his unusual appearance. Some kids use hateful language, and some people suggest that Auggie is mentally deficient. However, readers should find it inspiring and uplifting. The Author writes the book in many different points of view's -- Auggie's, some of his friends', his sister's -- and the different points of view are mostly very well-realized and show the true thoughts and feelings of the other characters. Wonder was just amazing! I think the book should be read in classes to teach students to respect kids like Auggie.

In a utopian world, members of an abnormaly perfect society have ordinary jobs that they go to and from each day, and kids go to school to learn. However, there are some things that may prove to be not so perfect. The People can't see color. They live in a world of Black and White. They can't experience pain or happiness. There are, however, two people in this society that are an exception to all of those things. They understand that their seemingly utopian society may truly be a dystopian society, bringing together the members of this society from the truth of the past, the truth of the things beyond their society. These two people are the Giver, and Jonas, the Receiver of Memories. When Jonas begins to learn more and more about the truth of his society, and where he lives, he begins to form a plan to rebel, to run away from his society to try to figure out what's beyond his life.

This book is really good because it shows the importance of friendships, and how some things you just can't tell or show. It teaches people about how family is always there for you, no matter what happens.
