Cora is a mermaid in third grade. She has an A+ in Swimming, Singing, and Splashing. However, this year there is another subject: Spelling (which she has a fish in...minus the ish). Because of this, she is kicked off the swim team unless she can get a better grade. Her mom gets her a diary and puts her under a spell to write in it everyday. She talks to her friends what to do, and they tell her to study. Also, Cora finds a shrimp stuck under a barrel of toxic waste. She frees it, but now it has grown to weigh a ton and a half. Read the book to also find out about her encounter with the Singing Sirens. This book was nice. Though it was to easy for me to read, I still found it interesting. I would recommend this book to 2nd graders to 3rd graders and up. It reminded me of a younger version of Dork Diaries or Diary of a Wimpy Kid. This is a great read for younger kids!

Mr. Wolf, Mr.Snake, Mr. Piranha, and Mr.Shark all have a status quo of being bad guys. However, they plan to change this in order to become good guys. After recruiting all the gang members, Mr. Wolf teaches the animals the Dos and Don'ts of being a bad guy. Their first mission: To save a cat. Will they be recognized as heroes? Read Bad Guys to find out! I enjoyed this book. It is more humorous rather than adventurous. Even though this is a book aimed towards younger readers, I feel anybody could enjoy this book. However, unfortunately it is a quick read!

awesomessb's book review was featured in The School for Good and Evil.
Agatha and Sophie are best friends from Gavaldon. People from here are known as "Readers". They read they fictitious fairy tales such as Peter Pan, Cinderella, and Snow White. However, one day the owner of the local bookstore finds out that these tales may not be as fictitious as everyone believes. Every 4 years, children disappear into the woods, never to return again. The village names the thief who steals these children, "The School Master". This is because they believe the kids are sent to either a school for good, or a school for evil. Sophie is a beautiful girl, who feels she is a perfect fit for the School for Good. In fact, she has been waiting forever to be kidnapped, just like the kids who disappeared into the woods. Sophie tells Agatha that she would fit in at the School for Evil. Alas the day finally comes when the school master kidnaps the girls. However, despite what they think, Agatha is sent to the School for Good and Sophie is sent to the School for Evil. As the story progresses, we learned that the school master may have made the correct choice. Their friendship also changes. I would rate this book 2.7. You may be wondering, "Why is this book rated a 2.7, when the reviewer still recommended it. This is because I did not enjoy the book very much, but still liked it. However, I feel that even though I did not enjoy it very much, many others will. You should give this book a try.

Sunny is a pug who is loved by her owner. She loves her stuffies collection A LOT! However, she soon meets her kid sister Rosy. She is annoyed by her, and wishes she would go away. Rosy on the other hand wants to spend time with Sunny. One day, Mr. Bunny from her stuffies collection flies out the window because of Rosy. This is the last straw for Sunny, and asks Rosy to go away. Sunny soon realizes Rosy left the house. Read the book to find out what happens next. There is also a mini-heist. This was a nice book. This book is directed to younger readers, but I still found it nice. This is a great book for young kids who enjoyed the movie The Secret Life of Pets. Give it a try!

A princess and a witch....friends? Sophie is a beautiful blonde, obsessed over her looks and doing good deeds. Agatha is the opposite. She is a witch's daughter, and most of the village stays away from her and thinks she's evil, which Agatha demonstrates quite often. Sophie first becomes friends with Agatha for a good deed, but soon Sophie and Agatha become real best friends. One night, Agatha and Sophie get kidnapped from their village of Gavaldon and brought to the School of Good and Evil, where fairy-tale heroes and villains are made. Students are sorted into Evers (Good) or Nevers (Evil). Sophie has been waiting for this for her entire life, and Agatha just wants to find a way home. But then Agatha is placed into the Good school and Sophie is placed into the Evil school. Is it a mix up? Sophie and Agatha try to switch places, but it never works. Who is really Good and who is really Evil? Through classes, boys, and a faltering friendship, what will they find out about themselves and each other? Will Sophie and Agatha ever get home and find their Happily Ever After? THIS BOOK IS INCREDIBLE! Soman Chainani is amazing and I love his writing. I loved the fact that my opinion kept switching back and forth on who to root for, and who was good or evil, with all the plot twists. It was so good! Literally, right after finishing this first book in the epic series I immediately checked out the next 3 books in the series and I am eagerly awaiting the 5th book! The School for Good and Evil is a fun, engaging read that I really enjoyed, and I think you will too! I give it 5/5 stars, and I recommend it for ages 8+.

This book follows Mo Lebeau, a girl who was swept to Tupelo Landing, NC by a hurricane. Ever since the hurricane, Colonel and miss Lana have been taking care of her. She is best friends with Dale Earnhardt Johnson III. Miss Lana runs a cafe that is loved by the townspeople, and doesn't enjoy lawyers. they plan to help Lavender win the Sycamore 200 and get back at he arch nemesis Anna Celeste (Attila). However, after a customer of Miss Lana's cafe customer is murdered, residents start to question the safety of the town. Detective Joe Starr comes to investigate, but isn't as welcomed by Colonel. Dale and Mo decide its up to them to solve this case! Using their natural-born detectives skills, they just might find the murderer. I enjoyed this book! It was an interesting mystery type book. At the same time there is the mystery of finding who Mo's "Upstream Mother" is. The author shows the struggles of the characters to. I would recommend this for grades 4+. You should give it a try!
