This book was really good! The story takes place just after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. All of the kids: Kiku, Joe, Madge, and Walt are at the Metropolitan Museum of New York. They learn that they have to find the Kelmsbury Manuscript missing pages. If they'll be able to find that and reunite the pages with the book- and not get caught- they can protect America from getting a second attack. Five unlikely friends. One big adventure. Mysteries and backstories. Courage. Magic. Will the friends be able to find all the pages and protect the US? You'll have to read the book to find out! A little like From the Mixed up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, and so much adventure! Carol Goodman does such a good job, it'll keep you reading all night! Happy reading!

Watching a little of comedy and her favorite comedian can't hurt, right? But then she gets spotted. Everyone thinks she's Kay Nakamura, another student that was supposed to be there. Yumi doesn't deny it. Her life turns great! The instructor thinks she's great and she has so much fun. Yumi almost has two lives. Her's- Yumi Chang and Kay Nakamura- at comedy camp. But...what will happen when Kay and Yumi's parents and comedian find out she's faking? This book twists Korean food, comedy, and laughter into a beautiful book. Happy reading! 5/5 stars.

Welcome to Wonderland Motel! P.T. Wilkie loves Wonderland Motel. It's owned by his grandfather and P.T.'s mom. Why wouldn't P.T. like Wonderland? It has a pool, ice cream machine, and frog slide! But then P.T. learns that the motel isn't doing too good. He's kind of always known....they don't get many customers, resulted in, well, not a lot of money. They need to save the motel before they lose it for good. But how? Luckly, P.T. and his new friend, Gloria have a plan. LOTS of them, which will hopefully be enough. I really enjoyed this book! I loved this book with it's humor! My grandparents live in Florida, so it's fun to recognize some places.

What a good book! Nathan Hale is telling another tale now, and this one is about the Louisiana Purchase. There were lots of slaves in Haiti. Napoleon is in the French Army and government now. You learn about the Haitian Revolution, enslaves people, and, of course the Louisiana Purchase! This graphic novel ties history, some humor, and everything in between. My favorite character was probably Hangman! I really liked how funny he was, and I kept on cracking up because of him. Warning: this book contains slavery, so you may want to talk to a trusted adult after reading, Happy reading!

I'll be honest....I was skeptical of reading this book. I thought it was going to be mean spirited, and make the reader feel depressed. But I was wrong! This book was funny and the drawings were SO good! Nikki's day hadn't started too good- who wants to get Brianna's missing sandwich on her brand new outfit? But her day turns extra bad when in gym, Mackenzie hits Nikki right in the head, super hard with a dodgeball! Nikki falls into a magical world and sees that the story characters are....her friends and family! Will Nikki get out and get back to the human world? I rate this book 3/5 stars. Happy reading!

This book was a great conclusion to the series! Alex has been put under a magical spell by mirror dust- a bad one- where she must do whatever the witches want her to do. They are making Alex do horrible things, like hurt people and everything else. Why? Well, they're evil and they want to take over the otherworld. But where is she? She's in New York City, and if Conner doesn't save her, NYC will have some big damage. Conner, Goldie, Jack, Red, and Bree fly over to New York to save Alex. But it's worse than they thought. Weapons are being made by enslaved children, the team runs into some familiar people, and the Army is trying to kill Alex. Plus to make matters worse, Froggy is stuck in a mirror thanks to Mornia and hasn't been able to escape. Can Conner and his friends save Alex and the city as well as Froggy? I loved this book so much! The Land of Stories: Worlds Collide, twists magic with reality and humor. Happy reading!

Wow. That was the first thing I said after reading this book. Lacey Chu lives in a world where they use bakues instead of iphones. Many people become friends with their baku and the bakus assist their owner. Lacey really wants to get into Profectus- a special advanced school- and she thinks she will. After all, she's an amazing engineer and can fix almost everything. Plus, if she gets in Profectus she will have a guaranteed future at Moncha- her dream job. But when Lacey received a email saying she's not accepted into the school, she's devastated. But, she still needs a baku, so she and her friend go to get one. She gets a level 1 beetle, which is the lowest level. (The higher they are, the better!) To go to Profectus she needs at least a level 3 baku, but she's not going there so she doesn't care. Lacey and her friend, Zoya are walking, but Zoya's baku gets lost. Lacey goes to find it, but also finds a cat baku. It's all torn apart and beard up. But like mentioned earlier, Lacey is an excellent engineer. She fixes it up and then receives a surprising letter from her dream school. This time she's been accepted! And they confirm that she has a level 3 baku, Jinx? Jinx is the cat she rescued and apparently her baku. Now at Profectus, Lacey makes new friends, learns about baku battles, and tries to solve the mystery that Jinx isn't like any baku ever made. And if people find out that Jinx isn't a normal baku-Jinx is in great danger. Filled with mystery, a bit of romance, and heartbreaking news, this book has it all. I was so shocked at the end, and loved this book. I highly recommend! Happy reading!
