This book is the story of Nikki Maxwell. It's her first day at her new school, and she tells her story in her diary! This book marks the start of her adventures with her new best friends, her crush, and her enemy. This book can be relatable to many kids, and tell kids that even when things go wrong, they will turn right eventually. I rate this book 5/5, recommend it to kids in grades 2nd-8th. If you enjoy Diary of a Wimpy Kid, then this book is for you!

"May the odds be ever in your favor"- She had been dreading this day, not only Katniss but the rest of Panem. Today was the annual drawing of the Hunger Games, the televised fight to the death. The drawing is for between ages 12-18. Katniss's little sister, Primrose (Prim), would be in the drawing for the first time as she was now 12. On your first drawing, you only have one slip with your name on it in (unless you sign up for tesserae, otherwise known as volunteer food rationing given by the government). Each year, you have one extra slip. Katniss had assured Prim that she would not be picked, that it was one in many slips. She couldn't have been picked. But to Katniss's dread, she was. Katniss knew she couldn't let her sister join. The four words she spoke next are how this story begins- "I volunteer as tribute." This book was interesting, and every page made me want to read more and see what would happen next. I rate this book 5/5, and recommend it to people who love to read dystopian or utopian books.

"Never judge a book by its cover"- August (Auggie) Pullman is an ordinary kid, but faces judgement from some of his classmates because of his facial differences. He has been homeschooled for all his life until the fifth grade. One of my favorite quotes from this book is "You can't blend in when you were born to stand out." This book is very inspirational, and I recommend it to all grades, and rate it 5/5.

“On the seventy-fifth anniversary, as a reminder to the rebels that even the strongest among them cannot overcome the power of the Capitol, the male and female tributes will be reaped from their existing pool of victors.”- The Capitol and President Snow are angry at Katniss Everdeen for outsmarting them in their games. Their actions have caused uprisings, and when they fail to show Panem that they are actually in love with each other, President Snow decides to hold another Hunger Games with the drawing from the existing pool of victors as revenge. Katniss is going back into the arena again, and this time, the goal is to keep Peeta alive. This book was action-filled, and leaves you wondering what will happen next. This book made me want to read the next Hunger Games book, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys dystopian and utopian literature. I rate this book 5/5, and recommend it for grades 4th-12th.

Katniss has survived the Hunger Games once again, but she is still not safe. After the Hunger Games, changes have been made. District 12 is gone. Katniss is the face of the new rebellion, and she is the mockingjay. To add, to that, the Capitol has taken Peeta. President SNow reminds Katniss that not only her safety is in risk, but her family and friends. The rebellion is the start of a change in Panem's history. This book was action-filled, and made me wonder what would happen next. I rate it 5/5, and recommend it to people who like utopian and dystopian novels.
