Some kids can be scaredy- cats! No offense to cats, though. I just read this book, Unexplained, by Judy Allen. It's an encyclopedia of paranormal things and creatures, such as ghosts, monsters, and visions of the future, no- unexplained stuff. Judy Allen is a good writer. But- this is not my favorite book, maybe 10th or 56th place? I don't know. I've read a lot of books, but just like the average kid. I just can't choose well! I decided to read this, because I'm really into stuff like this, but here's one thing- I'm not gonna become one of those cryptozoologists. Sure, I think I believe that these stuff do exist, well, at least something like, 80 percent? But that doesn't matter! As soon as I saw this, I flipped through the book, and borrowed it from the library. I returned it. After a year, I was in the mood for something like this, so I ordered it on Amazon! That doesn't matter either, though. Want a few facts? Well, here's a small list: Dizzyjelly's list o' "weird stuff." #1 Phantom Hitchhikers: people who hitchhike, get picked up, and disappear. Sometimes the people matching that description are people who died years earlier! #2 6th Sense: 6th sense is a weird phenomena when someone gets information without using any of the other 5 senses. #3 Deja Vu: Everybody gets it! I get it like, 10x a day! It's not like watching a movie and realizing you've seen it before. It a lot weirder. A whole lot weirder. I don't know how to explain it, though. Sometimes, I get the same Deja Vu like, 3 times! It's weird. But that's the whole point, right? I rate this 3 out of 5 stars, like I said, it's not my favorite. But I recommend this to anybody, except for skeptics. Have a good day! Have a good day! Have a good day! Have a good day! Have a good day! No, that's not Deja Vu, of course.

Spider-man; Into The Spider-verse was a really funny movie. But I'm not sure if it's my favorite. So this kid living in New York, Miles Morales, gets bitten by a radioactive spider, when he's spray - painting. I know I haven't told you the rest yet, and what happened like an hour before, so here. Miles moved to a new school, Brooklyn Middle, where he meets Wanda. After that, that's when he gets bitten. He goes back to school. He tries acting "cool," So he puts his hand on Wanda's shoulder and says, "Hey" But, his hand got in her hair, and it STUCK. She gets half her hair shaved off. Y'know how Miles was trying to be cool? Well, that was a tip from his relative, his favorite relative, uncle Aaron. That's who he went spray- painting with. His dad knew he snuck out, and went after him. Aaron's hands get stuck to the ground. "Please stop sticking!" He pulls, and gets sent flying out the school building, and runs on the SIDE. I don't mean the sidewalk, I mean the wall. So he was like, "Please keep sticking!" And Wanda's like, "Um, Okay?" I'm not so good at summaries, so lets go fast- forward. A certain someone dies. "Wahhh!" People mourn. Miles meets people from different dimensions. Duh! "Spiderverse!" Such as, an Peter Parker, Peni Parker, Peter Porker, (Or spider Ham,) and Spider man Noir. Noir means black in French. Wanda turns out to be Gwen Stacey, from another dimension, sadly. Miles made a promise to the certain someone who died. He needs to destroy a building. Evil? Kind of. But for the best. I'd rate this 4 out of 5 stars, and people who like sci-fi movies would love this. Are you still here? I'm finished. There's a whole lot more, but that would be spoiling the movie! You have to watch it yourself! DizzyJelly OUT!

felicisowl's book review was featured in The Candymakers.
"If nothing changed, there'd be no such things as butterflies." This was a sweet surprise! I mostly read adult fiction nowadays, but I've missed books like this! What surprised me is that THE CANDYMAKERS took itself surprisingly seriously - it sold itself as a mystery, and it was a mystery, and an especially good one at that! It starts out as a fun, sweet candy-making adventure, but it doesn't end on that note. It's never until it's over: THE CANDYMAKERS doesn't stop revealing secrets until the very last page. Somehow both unexpectedly funny and unexpectedly touching, THE CANDYMAKERS never turns treacly and the fun never fizzles out - it has plenty of meaningful stories to tell. There is something so nostalgic about reading something I would have enjoyed as a child. Some things never change: I will always love elaborate candy factories and child detectives, and this was the sweetest, funniest, smartest combination of both.

felicisowlliked a comment in The Candymakers.
The Candymakers is definitely a sweet surprise! The story takes place in the Life is Sweet candy factory where the candy-making contest was taking place. Daisy, Philips, Logan, and Miles are the four protagonists of the story. This book is unique compared to others because it gives the same story in four different perspectives. I appreciate that Wendy Mass presented the story in that format because it gives readers a sense of what is going on without giving only one biased perspective and it helps you understand each character better. The four are oblivious to the secrets each person held. Peculiarly, the secrets they had ended up to be what kept them apart, but they used it to protect the factory and to reconcile. By the end, everyone learns something about each other and became close friends.
