This movie was pretty good. The characters were compelling and funny. The story was action packed, but still interesting, and I loved the idea of criminals becoming heroes as well. Suicide Squad showed the backstory of all it's characters, allowing it's viewers to feel for the villains and basically pick their favorite. Personally, my favorite member of the Suicide Squad was Deadshot because of his humor and the good ways he interacted with his daughter. I also liked the passion he had for his daughter. This movie kept me on the edge of my seat and I really liked it. However, while the story was good, it had a few things missing. For example, the Enchantress was supposed to be a part of the squad but then went rouge and became the main antagonist. I was a tad bit confused because the Suicide Squad wasn't originally planned to stop the Enchantress since she was supposed to be a part of the team, so what was the squad for? I realize that they were probably to stop terrorists and other threats, but that was somewhat unclear. Otherwise this movie was great! Overall the story was okay, the characters were awesome, and the action and story balanced out perfectly. I really enjoyed this movie, but would recommend it for 13 year olds on up due to disturbing behavior and lots of violence.

I have always loved the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. I find them unbelievably funny! However, when I read this new one, I felt something was missing. Every time that I read A Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, I laugh my head off. However, this one really wasn't that funny. While these books are mostly meant to be funny, they usually have somewhat of a plot and a story behind it. This one really doesn't. I feel that it's just a bunch of random events put together that were meant to be funny, but really weren't. Oh, and don't let the book fool you. You know how it says that it's about Greg making a movie to get his mom off his back? Well it's really not. He doesn't start making the movie until page 200 or something, and there's only like 220 pages. On top of that, he's only making the movie for like 4 pages. I felt that last years "Old School" was much better in quality, and in laughs! I'm not saying that Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Double Down isn't worth reading, because if your a fan of Wimpy Kid, you'll end up reading it any way. I'm just saying that it could have been a lot better. I mean, I only laughed one time during this entire book. The others? Iv'e read them all multiple times and have laughed hundreds to thousands of times at each one! Okay, I may be exaggerating a bit, but you get my point. It's just not that funny. But you should read it anyway, and see if you like it or not.

Spider Man 2. Spider Man 2, in some people's opinions, is considered one of the greatest superhero movies of all time. However, I'm not sure that I agree with them. My favorite Spider Man film would have to be The Amazing Spider Man from 2012. While I did enjoy this film, I'm not sure I would rank it up with "The Avengers" or "The Dark Knight." Let's start with the villain. Dr. Octopus was absolutely great! Everything about this villain was portrayed fantastically! Tobey Maguire did a very good job as Spider Man for the second time. Mary Jane and Harry Osborn did an exceptional job. However, there was one part in the film where Spider Man looses his powers, but towards the end, he gets them back. Now, I understand that this part was included to show that he had to believe in himself in order to be Spider Man, but I felt this took away from the general plot of the movie. However, it doesn't stop this film from being absolutely epic! However, the reason I enjoyed "The Amazing Spider Man" more was because I felt that it had more depth. In the first film, you can understand Peter's point of view. I felt with the first Amazing film, Andrew Garfield played the character perfectly. He portrayed everything that I thought Peter Parker should be. However, I felt that the second film, The Amazing Spider Man 2, was not Garfield's best work. I felt that he just wasn't as good in the second film, and that he didn't put his best effort forward, like he did in the first movie. So therefore, I think that Spider Man 2 was a much better second installment then The Amazing Spider Man 2.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS!!! The Elite is an awesome story about a 16 year old named America Singer. In this novel America is one of the six Elite (the name for the last 6 girls still in the contest for Prince Maxon's heart) and Maxon is quite taken with her. Towards the middle of the book Maxon resurrects Halloween to make America happy. The palace then holds a ball celebrating the holiday where America and Maxon decide they want to marry each other. However, the next day a terrible event occurs causing America to not want to have to make a final choice between her ex, Aspen, and Maxon. Next, while on TV she suggests that the King (Maxon's Dad) should try to eliminate the caste system pushing him to attempt to send her home. In addition to all these problems many rebel attacks were occurring at the palace. During one attack America and Maxon ended up alone together and America had to tend to Maxon's wounds. Despite his previous intentions of getting rid of her, the King decides to allow America to stay in the Selection because she saved Maxon during the attack. Sadly, the King still wanted America gone, but she was and is willing to fight to stay in the Selection and compete for Maxon's love. Read this book to find out how America gets out of all this trouble, and how she plans to win Maxon. I loved this book and I recommend it to 7th graders on up.
