After Earth (2013)
One thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity's escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind's new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai. When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai's craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. This was a movie of action and me i like action. And it is full of awesome stuff like me. :p
Everyone should watch this! I absolutely recommend this movie to adventurous people. A man and a sun were the only survivors in a ship crash. A beacon could not save them in the ship. The son had to travel to get the other beacon from the tail of the plane to save him and his father. But, the young boy must be careful and alert because an ursa might be around...

I read the book and expected a normal sic fi action movie so when i watched the movie i was amazed what happens is the dad takes kitai on a mission where the plan crash lands and everybody dies except for kitai and his father so the father cant move because of a broken leg and when the son gets the emergency transmitter it is broken so he has to travel through all diffrent types of terrain and then he finds out that the deadly dreaded URSA is chasing his trail and he must learn "TO GHOST" before the Ursa caches up to him but his communication device brakes and the father thinks he is dead after jumping off a clif and it is just a really emotional movie
This a sad/exciting/really good movie about Earth in the future. According to this movie, Earth was a fairytale..until a space ship crash occured and they landed on Earth. There is one thing about Earth that will make you never want to encounter it, everything on Earth has evolved to destroy humans
I just watched this movie at my best friend's house. This movie was just amazing! Being in 7th grade, I have watched a ton of movies throughout my life, mine always being The Wizard of Oz. I'm sorry Dorothy, but Jaden Smith in After Earth... just wow. This movie is about a boy and his father who crash-land on Earth. Earth has been evacuated and now humans live in space. When they crash-land, the father breaks both of his legs and is about to die. The boy has to find a communication device that is about 10 kilometers away from their half of the plane. The boy must survive in conditions in which he never has before. On top of that, there is the dreaded URSA hunting him down. I'm not going to spoil the ending. Just know that if you haven't seen this movie, you need to. It is my new favorite movie!
