I saw it with my mom and two older sisters. I loved it and I think that for a Broadway actor, Lin-Manuel was pretty good. I would watch it again right now and so would my oldest sister because we like that kind of stuff, but my other sister and mom said that it wasn't worth it. Anyways, I really liked it. My oldest sister told us that she heard JHud say that when she was on Broadway and changed to film, it was really different. And that's because when you're on stage, you have to be overdramatic and...like "accentuate"...so that people can understand what you're doing. But, in the movies, the camera is right in your face. So, Lin Manuel Miranda was actually a good actor and adjusted pretty well. I also have to say that my family, cousins (on dad's side), and some church friends love Lin-Manuel's musical, "Hamilton." I recommend that, too. ;)

I considered it an excess of whimsy. The songs were OK and the actual plot was a bit formulaic. However, if you like that stuff, go for it.
