- Barney is a socially awkward schoolboy who receives a robot named Ron -- a walking, talking, digitally connected device that's supposed to be his best friend. Barney is excited to finally have his own robot -- until his new toy starts to hilariously malfunction, drawing the attention of a shady executive who wants to protect his company's stock price at all costs. This movie was absolutely hilarious and well done. I watched it with my dad and my other sister and we all could not stop laughing! I totally recommend this movie to any kids or even adults who love great humor.
- Cute movie for kids. It's funny, not Oscar-worthy, but cute and funny. My mom really likes this movie. Like, more than I do!

- What the animated feature lacks in daring imagination, it makes up for with endearing good humor, thoughtful cultural critique and one heck of a cute robot. Excellent voice talent but average character design and storyline. And it is unfortunately similar in theme to the recent and much better "Mitchells vs. the Machines." While the destination is obvious, the journey itself is full of life. The quirkiness from the character interactions and presence of this hilarious robot will have families grinning from ear to ear. Ron's Gone Wrong could be a movie about the perils of social media, but it works better as a movie about recognizing that friendship requires work, no matter whether the connection blossoms through a high-tech device, or the old-fashioned way, in person. [The movie] has some quirks and flaws (just like the robot in question) but is ultimately charming in how it presents issues about how much technology can or should replace a human being.
- perfectly said
