  This movie was not better than the book but the ending was better.But this would be a better movie if you don't read the book first but I recommend to read the book first but that is if you want the movie to not be as good as it could be.4 stars

  The Giver movie is not like the movie in some parts, in little moments, it’s pretty much the same, which doesn’t bother me. Anyways, in the beginning, Jonas narrates about how his community is different from our world. Eventually, Jonas meets his friends like normal and notices Fiona’s red hair. Fast forward to the ceremony, that scene made me feel uncomfortable a little since Asher’s assignment wasn’t the one like the book and that weird clapping too. Jonas gets his assignment and goes through training. His interactions with the giver weren’t exactly similar, but it did the job. They way he transmitted memories were not from the back, but from his hands. The rest of the movie, until he left the community was the same. Even the part of releasing the twins, which by the way was sad. In the book, Jonas tries to make Fiona understand but fails. In the movie, he makes her part of her plan. Jonas gets Gabriel and leaves, but his journey is different because of something involving Asher. The movie made his journey short and less dramatic than it was in the book. Jonas his destination and that all I can say.

  This movie is very interesting. It is also very different from the book. It is different in the beginning because it throws a lot of information at us while in the book it is spaced out and more as a sequence of events. I do like that it has a lot of the main plots from the book. I just wish it was more similar to the book.

  This was an amazing movie and it is the movie version of The Giver book, it caught my attention right away because I found the book very intriguing. This movie is drastically different to the book, but if you would like to see the movie to get a type of visual of how the people look and how the community actually works. Jonah’s has always been different since he became a receiver of memory, he started to realize how everything is not okay with the community. The reason that I think that this movie is amazing is because, the characters are really true to who they are, there were a lot of suspense in some of the scenes. Lastly, the theme of the movie and the book are both very strong and very meaningful. I strongly recommend this movie because it has been made very well but if you don’t like the fact that the movie and the book differ then I suggest you not to watch it.   (The Giver) movie is nothing like the book. In my opinion I believe that you should read the book and not watch the movie. The movie didn’t start like the book it gave the climax in the beginning. The movie was okay good I would give it a 1 popcorn. The director should’ve started the movie exactly like the book. The setting was futuristic and gave a weird vibe towards the movie. Everything in the movie moved so fast it didn’t explain the point that happened in the book.

  The movie wasn’t as good as the book. The creators changed the entire plot and it was annoying. They almost seem to throw everything at your face in the beginning of the movie. It was a lot to take in and too much information to process. It went by to quick and it was almost confusing. Johnas was very over dramatic than in the book. There wasn’t a romantic relationship between rosemary and johnas. The movie doesn’t have any suspense and all the memories are combined into one giant memory. It just seemed to butcher the important memories. But they did keep within the plot of the story and the futuristic effects on the movie were great.

  The Giver Movie is way different from the Giver book. There are so many scenes that happen in the book that are not in the movie and some scenes that are in the movie that are not in the book. The book was way better than the movie was. There was more details in the book than the movie. The main idea of the movie is that Jonas slowly starts to learn a lot about his community that he lives in and he starts have courage and strength from the memories that the giver gives to Jonas. I feel like at the beginning when they are giving the jobs I think that, that part should have not been there.( the part where they lie about the girls age Jonas’s sister). I do recommend the movie because it is a great time killer and not to lie but it is a good movie. I would give this movie a 7 out of 10.

  In the movie “The Giver.” It recreates many of it’s scenes, that it had originated from. But is slightly changed to match the pace of the movie. Many Easter eggs are also found throughout the movie that reference the book. Which made it more fun to watch. In my opinion the book is better than the movie. But the movie also likes to pull its watchers in.
