Black Panther

Black Panther (2018)

King T'Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country's new leader. However, T'Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne by factions within his own country as well as without. Using powers reserved to Wakandan kings, T'Challa assumes the Black Panther mantle to join with ex-girlfriend Nakia, the queen-mother, his princess-kid sister, members of the Dora Milaje (the Wakandan 'special forces') and an American secret agent, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.

When I walked into Black Panther, I was on edge. I thought the film was going to be horrible and it wasn’t going to be interesting. That would be my last response to this film, I loved it. I never knew that a film about an African Country could be so interesting. The plot of the movie follows T’Challa, the King of Wakanda, struggling with the loss of his father and trying to defeat Ulysses Klaw, an arms dealer, from using vibranium to attack wakanda. Almost Immediately after we learn that another war criminal comes to Wakanda with a demand for the throne. The special effects were used well and this film used it’s cast well. Chadwick Boseman was impressive as the King of Wakanda. Michael B. Jordan was Hilariously perfect as Killmonger and, of course, nothing could top Letitia Wright as Shuri, Black Panther’s sister. This movie also has a good balance of humor and action, with one moment having an action sequence and the next a funny scene. Usually I go into a movie knowing about the main character but this was completely blind, but I still enjoyed this. The film was also an origin story and the last origin story I saw was wonder woman and I didn’t like that. This film is fits perfect as the last film before Infinity War (Stay tuned for that) Overall I really liked this movie and I hope that this movie gets a sequel.

A really good movie. I watched it with my friends and LOVED it. It's very diverse, as compared to the movies about white male superheroes. Recommended to ages 10 and up because there is some violence and language. But it's one of the best movies ever.

This movie was incredible. The CGI work tops just about any other movie I’ve seen, and it is very uplifting. The MCU has never really givin girls or dark skinned people a leading roll, but that changed with The Black Panther. It was hopefull to see one of the biggest film making company’s making a movie like this, and Killmonger’s last words, something along the lines of “bury me in the ocean, where my ancestors jumped off of the slave boats, because they knew that death was better than a life of slavery” touched me.
